The Family Business Association will be honoring and
highlighting the outstanding achievements of 20
Massachusetts-based, family-owned businesses Thursday,
October 21st at the Royal Sonesta Hotel in Cambridge.
Hosted by local TV celebrity David Wade (WBZ), the lineup of
speakers for this annual event reads like a “Who’s Who” in
the state’s business community. Comcast will also be
present at the event interviewing the year’s finalists.

FBA Awards for Massachusetts 2010
The annual FBA Awards program brings together the leaders
in family business throughout the state. Past speakers have
included Roger Berkowitz of Legal Seafoods, Debbie Zildjian
of Avedis Zildjian, Co. and Phyllis Goodwin of Granite City
Electric.
This year’s FBA Awards include two new categories, First
Generation Business and the Comcast Spotlight Hall of Fame
Award. Other categories are Small, Medium and Large
Business, Adversity, and Community Involvement; all 20
finalists have a chance of winning one of these last two
awards. The Comcast Spotlight Hall of Fame Award will be
given to a business selected by the Board of Directors of
the FBA for its track record of excellence in every aspect
of its operations.

nominate a
family business in order to recognize the dedication, service
to the community, and/or success it has achieved. Finalists receive significant public recognition including the following:
- An exclusive profile of the business in the
Boston Business Journal;
- An in-depth video highlighting their business;
- On-site recognition at the annual awards show;
- A profile in the awards program; and
- A opportunity to be named a 2010 Family Business of the Year!
